ABOUT EMERGENCY RADIOLOGY FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMThis one-year fellowship in Emergency Radiology involves both the imaging of traumatic and non-traumatic emergency conditions. The Emergency Radiology Division is located adjacent to the Massachusetts General Hospital Emergency Department, a major Level-1 Trauma Center for New England. The Division sees over 80,000 patients per year. Approximately 110,000 cases are performed annually in the Emergency Radiology Division which is equipped with 16 and 64-slice multi-detector CT scanners, a 1.5T MR scanner, ultrasound, and three digital radiographic rooms. The Division is completely digital with film interpretation on six PACS workstations and a 3-D workstation. Daily work is performed in a spacious consultation room with dictation using voice-recognition software. Teaching of fellows is provided at daily case review conference, weekly teaching conferences and research meetings. Consultation throughout the workday occurs with our team of staff radiologists and emergency department physicians. The Emergency Radiology Fellow participates in Divisional educational and research activities, including resident and medical student teaching of Emergency Radiology and participation in a wide variety of ongoing clinical investigations. The Selection Process The selection process involves an initial assessment of your CV, personal statement and three letters of recommendation. Selected applicants will be invited for one-day interviews with MGH Emergency Radiology Division Head and staff members. The applicant will have an opportunity to get acquainted with our working environment and facilities. There are two fellowship positions available per academic year. Foreign Medical Graduates (FMGs, IMGs) Foreign medical graduates are encouraged to apply for our fellowship. Please note: To be considered for a fellowship position, you must have passed the entire USMLE (steps 1, 2, 3, CSA and TOEFL) and be eligible for a Medical License in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
