The Department of Radiology is pleased to announce the expansion of its imaging services in to the new Yawkey Center for Outpatient Care facility.

Mass General Imaging Yawkey compliments the existing network of community imaging centers – Mass General West Imaging Waltham, Mass General Imaging Chelsea and Mass General Imaging Charlestown.

With the opening of Yawkey, the Department of Radiology aims to increase the imaging resources available to referring practices, including same day appointment availability, as well as better service the needs of inpatient and the emergency department through its main campus operations.

“The Department of Radiology is pleased to be a part of this multi-practice expansion focused on offering dedicated outpatient services. The added capacity, coupled with our existing off-site imaging locations in Waltham and Chelsea, will enable us to deliver a new level of quality service to our referring practices and our patients,” comments Denise S. Palumbo, RN, MSN, Executive Director of Radiology.

Designed to cater to outpatient practices, the new center houses CT, MRI, Ultrasound and general radiology services on the 6^th floor, Nuclear Cardiology on the 5^th floor and additional general radiology services located within the Orthopedic departments on the 2^nd and 3^rd floors.

The Radiology facilities in the Yawkey Center match that of all the Mass General Imaging sites - state-of-the art equipment and dedicated technologists, as well as interpretation by sub-specialized radiologists. All images and reports are available electronically to MGPO physicians via the picture archiving and communication system (PACS).
